David Jansen MDA has kindly offered to teach FREE OF CHARGE a study of an Old Dutch master painting by Willem van Aelst who specialized in still life painting with flowers or game. This study will be held on the internet at www.traditionsartist@yahoogroups.com. This site is a public forum where all artists are invited to join. This is a year long study with David who will supply instructions, photos and streaming videos once per month. The objective is to learn new techniques and at the end of 12 months to have a finished piece to frame. I have decided to paint along with this group and have opened my studio free once a month so that my students can paint along with me. |

Well, here we are again after patiently waiting for our May DVD lesson to arrive. At long last we could add some colour to our Van Aelst painting!
Straight away we got our Global Palettes out and here you can see Eva, Paula and Karen preparing their global paints. After plenty of stirring and mixing we started glazing our flowers – it didn’t take much paint to quickly transform our grisaille into colour – Whoo hooo!
